Tap That Topeka and Easterseals Midwest combined to bring the community together on Saturday night.
The annual downtown festival featured dozens of breweries, local vendors, food trucks, live music and a partnership supporting a local nonprofit.
Hundreds of people gathered near the Kansas Statehouse for the festival, celebrating craft beer, local businesses and community connections.
The annual event featured breweries from across the Midwest, along with local vendors, food trucks and live entertainment.
Organizers say the festival continues to grow because of the support it receives from the Topeka community.
“I think what makes Tap That special is it combines the idea of kind of what makes Topeka special of craft beer, of local vendors, what makes Topeka unique,” Tap That Topeka Event Director Hayden Federico said. “I think that’s why everyone keeps coming back year after year and Tap That keeps growing, because of our amazing community.”
This year’s festival included nearly 60 breweries and distilleries, giving attendees the chance to try new drinks and connect with other craft beer enthusiasts.
For some attendees, Tap That Topeka has become a yearly tradition.
“My favorite part is seeing a lot of familiar faces from over the years attending this event,” attendee Rose Downing told 27 News. “It’s a good time just to see the community having a good time.”
Beyond the food and drinks, the festival also supported Easterseals Midwest as this year’s benefiting partner.
Easterseals Midwest provides services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Kansas and Missouri.
“We’re so happy to be out here being the benefiting partner of today’s Tap That Topeka,” Easterseals Midwest Special Events and Community Relations Coordinator Adi Lowman said. “This is our first year partnering with Tap That and we’re just really excited to see how this partnership flourishes over the years.”
Organizers say Tap That Topeka will continue to bring people downtown while supporting local businesses, breweries and community partners like Easterseals Midwest.
