Easterseals Midwest offers professional certification training courses open to both Easterseals staff and external participants. All certification courses are held in-person, with potential blended options available for select courses. Classes are offered multiple times per month to accommodate varying schedules. Group rates are available for organizations requesting a dedicated class date.
Mandt System Training
The Mandt System is a comprehensive, relational-based training program designed to prevent, de-escalate, and manage crisis situations by building healthy relationships. It focuses on reducing workplace violence through emotional, psychological, and physical safety strategies, centering the philosophy of "supporting people, not just their behaviors" to foster dignity and respect.
The full Mandt certification is a two-day course. A certificate of completion is also available for day one only, for those who do not require physical safety strategies for employment certification purposes.

CPR & First Aid Training
CPR and First Aid training equips individuals to recognize and respond to medical emergencies, including cardiac arrest, choking, and injuries, until professional help arrives. Training covers chest compressions, rescue breaths, and treatment of wounds and burns.

Level 1 Medication Aide Training (L1MA)
Level 1 Medication Aide (L1MA) training is a state-approved certification program that prepares nursing assistants and direct care professionals to safely administer non-injectable medications in residential care settings. The course covers medication administration techniques, side effects, infection control, and legal documentation requirements.

Training Terms and Conditions
- All payments are final and non-refundable.
- If a registration is cancelled by emailing training@esmw.org at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled class start time, Easterseals will retain a credit on file for up to two (2) months. The credit may be applied toward enrollment in a future training session.
- Participants must attend the entire training session, arrive on time, and remain for the full duration of the class to be eligible for certification.
- Participants must successfully complete all required written, online, and practical assessments to receive certification.
- Participants who do not successfully complete the course and wish to retake it must register for, attend, and pay for the full course again.
