Understanding Coverage for Services
Easterseals Midwest accepts Medicaid (MO HealthNet), select commercial insurance plans, and private pay.
Children do not need to have an autism diagnosis before starting ABA therapy, however most commercial insurance companies and Medicaid require it to provide coverage. If your child does not yet have a diagnosis, we can still help.
School Training, Assessment, and Consultation
These programs are available by request from school districts through a private-pay contract agreement. These include flexible agreements where services can be provided as requested by the district either for general need or for specific individuals. These services are provided by one of our BCBAs.
Advanced Autism and Behavioral Trainings
This program includes a range of workshops, such as understanding functions of behavior, development of appropriate replacement behavior(s), developing behavior intervention plans, teaching and encouraging communication and social skills, toilet training, executive functioning skills, naturalistic teaching, addressing sensory integration, and using visuals in the classroom. Additional workshops are available upon request and can be customized based on need.
Functional Behavior Assessments
This package includes in-person observation, caregiver interviews, an analysis of collected behavior data and report review, a full report with recommendations to include in a behavior plan, and a follow-up meeting to discuss the information covered.
Classroom and Student Consultation
This program includes a consultation for the school building, classroom, or a specific student. Consultations typically include giving teachers recommendations to implement to support students’ education and to reduce problematic behavior. Consultations may also include the development of forms, processes, and materials.
ABA Consultations through the Department of Mental Health (DMH) Waiver
This service is available to individuals of all diagnoses with waiver-based supports. This service includes completion of a Functional Behavior Assessment to determine the level of ongoing support needs. An additional consultation can involve providing training, modeling, and ongoing consultation on an individualized plan to caregivers, residential staff, day programs, and other entities the individual frequents. Plans focus on individualized goals to assist in reduction of unsafe behaviors as well as goals to increase independence in activities of daily living, communication, and social interactions.
