Understanding Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy
ABA Programs: Personalized, Play-Based Therapy at Easterseals
As the largest provider of autism services in Missouri, Easterseals Midwest practices the most up-to-date research in the field of autism. We use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to support young children living with autism.
ABA is a type of personalized, 1:1, play-based coaching that helps children improve communication, build social skills, develop routines, and manage challenging behaviors. We identify each child's motivations to promote behavior changes.
Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) help families understand their child's development while designing goals and interventions that embrace their child's unique interests.
Support for the Whole Family
At Easterseals, we walk alongside your family throughout your journey with ongoing support, education, and connection.
Our team provides high-quality, engaging training for caregivers to help them understand their child's diagnosis and learn ways to best support their child. Through ongoing assessments and caregiver input, we create individualized plans to meet the developmental goals of the child and the family.
Our autism services span beyond our ABA clinic. Families can take advantage of our caregiver training program, regular support groups, sibling activities and education, community engagement, and more.
Coverage and Eligibility for ABA Services
Our ABA clinics see children ages 2 to 6 (through their kindergarten-eligible year, some exceptions apply).
Easterseals Midwest accepts Medicaid (MO HealthNet), select commercial insurance plans, and private pay.
Children do not need to have an autism diagnosis before starting ABA therapy, however most commercial insurance companies and Medicaid require it to provide coverage. If your child does not yet have a diagnosis, we can still help.
Need an Autism Screening?
If your child is between 16–30 months, Easterseals offers diagnostic testing. Learn more and schedule an assessment today.
