Children and Young Adults Three to 19 Years Old - Nurturing Parent Program
Home Visiting promotes children's continued brain development by sharing positive parenting techniques. Our program provides FREE support for families living in Clay and Jackson counties with children of all abilities, ages three to 19. Parent educators will visit your home for 10 visits to help you cope with the stress of being a parent, offer opportunities for you to interact with other families while having fun with your own, and helpful parenting resources.
This program offers:
- Weekly in-home sessions with Parent Educators, 10 weeks lasting 60-90 minutes each
- Parenting/caregiver assessments to identify strengths and opportunities for growth
- Family assessments for maternal depression and intimate partner violence
- Items promoting nurturing parenting techniques
- Opportunities to connect families to community events
- Resources in family's area
- New car seats for families in need (do not need to be enrolled with Easterseals to receive)
- Certificate upon completion of program
Trauma Smart® Partner
Easterseals Midwest is a Trauma Smart® Partner. All Home Visiting staff receive a minimum of 20 hours of training, equipping them to integrate trauma-informed practices into our work with families.
How to qualify for Home Visiting Services
- Have a child three to 19 years old.
- Reside in Clay or Jackson County.
