Easterseals Midwest’s LEAD group service is a gateway to life-changing experiences and services aimed to help people with disabilities live independently. Together, participants develop essential life skills and build social connections in our community through Community Networking, Social Development, and Independent Skill Development. 

  • Community Networking: Through volunteer opportunities with other local nonprofits, LEAD helps participants connect to the community.
  • Social Development: Weekly instructional sessions cover how to build and maintain healthy friendships, with skills practiced in real-time through a variety of classes and activities that allow participants to explore new interests and build social connections.
  • Independent Skills Development: Through personalized support, participants develop essential life skills like money management, cooking, public transportation, and more. Participants set personal goals to build the skills and confidence needed for everyday life.

Transportation to and from participants’ homes is provided daily.
